South Sudan football team lost to the Congo Brazzaville in their opening Group B game of the Africa Cup of Nations U-20, in Egypt.
Congo’s Red Devils scored in the first half before doubling their lead in the 62nd minute before South Sudan’s winger Paul Mara dribbled into the box and netted the only goal in the closing stages of the match.
The Congolese dominated the large part of the first half, but they lacked the finishing power on the South Sudan goal.
On the other hand, the Bright Stars created problems for their opponents as they staged late onslaught in their first ever game of the continental tournament.
However, the debutants suffered injury blows that saw defender Sarfino Lado substituted, and Bul Anyang suffered a minor foot injury, while Felix Abishai is reported to be nursing a hand injury.
