South Sudan will likely have its new syllabus for primary and secondary schools in the next two weeks, an official at the Ministry of Education has said.

The Director General for Innovation and Quality Promotion said the Ministry is holding a two-week workshop where syllabus units are being reviewed.

Umot Ukuny Olot said textbook printing will be the next step after the development of units.

He told Eye Radio that the exercise will include views from experts from all the ten states.

“After the syllabus, the next process is to develop the teaching and learning materials,” said Mr Ukuny.

Mr. Ukuny said that the Ministry of Education is also coming up with a syllabus for technical, vocational and alternative education systems.

The South Sudan curriculum review process started in 2013.
