Security officer killed pursuing raiders in Warrap

Authorities in Warrap state say a security personnel was killed and one hundred and thirty-five heads of cattle were raided in Mangul Apuk of Gogrial East by suspected armed individuals.

According to Warrap State Information Minister, three cattle owners were wounded in the incident in Mangul Apuk of Gogrial East Warrap state on Monday.

“We had an incident yesterday [Monday] whereby a suspected armed group from Mayom County of Unity State raided 135 heads of cattle,” he said.

Wol Mayom said the unnamed security officer was killed while trying to recover the cattle from the raiders.

“They killed one of the security apparatus of SSPDF division 11 who was trying to recover the cattle raided and three cattle owners were wounded in the incident.”

Minister Mayom alleged that the attackers came from Mayom County in Unity State.

Efforts to contact Mayom County Commissioner were not immediately successful as the press time.
