28 South African Companies have shown interest in investing in the mining, electricity and agricultural sectors in South Sudan.

South African Ambassador to South Sudan Gabriel Phemelo says the investments will create job opportunities to South Sudanese.

He was addressing business men from both countries at the opening of a two-day seminar in Juba.

“As South Africa, we are saying that we’d like to invest in South Sudan so that South Sudan can develop,” said Amb Phemelo.

“South Sudan needs capital and once we have mining sector operational, then we will be in position to create jobs for South Sudanese and capital evolvement in the country and that will bring development because people will start paying taxes to government.”

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the seminar.
