The National U-17 team face a difficult task to make it to the semi-final of this year’s CECAFA AFCON zonal qualifier as they lost 1-6 to Uganda Cubs this afternoon.
A poor first-half display from the team allowed Uganda take the lead with Davis Ssekajja scoring on the 3rd minutes.
Davis Ssekajja than got his second goal of the game on the 18th minute, Kakaire Thomas scored the third goal for Uganda on 24th and Davis Ssekajja got his hat-trick of the day on the 44th minute and Kakaire Thomas got his second goal of the night to take Uganda leading comfortably to the break.
After the interval, things got worse for South Sudan U-17 team with Emmanuel Morris shown his marching orders on 71’minute mark.
Davis Ssekajja than got the sixth goal for Uganda Cubs on the 70th minute to put the game to sleep for his team.
Joseph Manse scored the only consolation goal for South Sudan U-17 through a 90th penalty after Malish Sebit was brought down in the area.
The U-17 will next face Ethiopia in the final group B game on Sunday.
