At least two people have died in a road accident along the Juba-Nimule road this morning.
Eye witnesses say a bus and a truck collided on the Achwa Bridge, a few miles away from Nimule.
“There was an accident at about 10.30 a.m at a village called Ashwa. A bus was going from Nimule here this morning and they collided with baby coach bus,” Juma Stephen, traffic police officer in Nimule.
One of the drivers of the drivers is among the dead. The accident has halted traffic flow on the road. 11 others were injured.
“I had just left just now from the hospital leaving the victims under treatment.”
There have been cases of road accident on Juba-Nimule road.
About 3 months ago, nearly 60 people were killed when a passenger bus crashed head-on with a truck carrying goods from Uganda.
Several road users have often attributed the accidents to absence of speed bumps.
