About 2,500 people who fled recent clashes in Raja, Lol, are in dire need of medical assistance.

They are sheltering at Catholic Church in the town.

The Parish Priest, Father Richard Batista Engliz, said two children died due to poor health condition in the camp last week.

Father Richard told Eye Radio that the IDPs are in dire need of life-saving assistances such as food and medicine.

“We don’t have medicines. The essential drugs that the organizations operating in the area used to have got finished,” he said.

Father Richard added that the IDPs are now surviving on vegetables and wild fruits.

The displaced persons in the camps are also suffering from various diseases such as malaria and diarrhea, especially amongst children.
