A prominent Bari elder is calling on the people of South Sudan to unite in an effort to end the three-week conflict.
Retired Major-General James Loro Cirisio called for a peaceful end to the crisis when he and other Bari elders met Vice-President James Wani Igga yesterday.
James Loro said that the conflict is causing unimaginable damage to the country.
“People are living in fear. The government should do everything possible to stop the fighting. Children of the same mother and father can quarrel and fight, but after some time they should come back. We want this to stop so that people return to peace,” he told journalists.
Mr Loro urged people to support dialogue in a bid to end the unrest.
