Three people have been killed in an attack on a church in Cueibet County in Lakes State, the authorities have announced. A priest was among the dead. 

The state Acting Information Minister, Dhieu Wal, told Eye Radio that unknown gunmen attacked the church in Paguor Payam on Sunday.

“Some people came and shot the people in the church. They killed a priest there and then they went and killed other two people,” Mr Wal confirmed.

The state minister said that another suspected cattle raider was killed in Rumbek East.

There have been inter-clan attacks and killings in the state.

Recently, a paramount chief was killed in his house, sparking off a series of attacks.
