Authorities in Greater Pibor Administrative Area say there is an increase in the Prices of goods in the market.

They say this is because of the bad roads, caused by the rains from the month of April.

Sam David is the Minister of Information. He says bad roads have made transportation of goods from Juba to the area almost impossible.

Mr. Sam says the area is likely face hunger towards the end of the year, if the situation is not addressed soon.

“If you see we don’t have bottled water, we don’t have soft drinks and maybe things like sugar and flour are almost finishing, and if all the goods finished it will be a very big problem to us,” he said.

“From October to December we will experience hunger here”

“…for the traders to hire the airplane to bring the goods up to here is very difficult…and these are the small planes that cannot carry a big quantity of goods.”

Mr. Sam said Greater Pibor has also been faced with poor harvests this year due to uneven rains.
