The Traffic Police in Central Equatoria State says any vehicle found with a temporary number plate will be confiscated.

The Director of Traffic Police in the state, Col Kon John Akot, says this order was effective as from yesterday, and will last for a week.

He told Eye Radio that anybody who does not obey this order will have his or her vehicle confiscated by the traffic police.

“I am urging my brothers, those who have vehicles at auction, and they have no number plates, if we find any vehicle that has no number plate, we will confiscate,” he said.

Col Kon said that “any vehicle being taken for sell should have a temporary number plate for a period of 15 days or a permanent number plate.”

He added that “[for] any vehicle coming from Nimule, the owner must go and meet the traffic police department there and should be given a temporary number plate which lasts for 15 days.”

Col Kon John Akot, said vehicles that are not licensed are responsible for causing traffic accidents in Juba city.
