The former Minister of National Security, Oyai Deng Ajak, is appealing to President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar to accept peace and end the conflict.

Mr Oyai is among the four SPLM leaders who were pardoned by the government on Friday after legal proceedings on treason charges.

“I think peace at this time is not in the hands of the people, peace is in the hand of leadership, and peace is in the hands of Salva and Riek Machar,” said Mr Oyai in exclusive interview with Eye Radio today.

“So, as leaders, they’ve to take bold decision to really stop the senseless war.”

Oyai said that they will work with the government and the SPLM-in Opposition to resolve the crisis in the country.

On Friday the Minister of Justice announced the release of, Pagan Amum Okech, Dr.Majak D’Agot, Oyai Deng Ajak and Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth.

The announcement also includes the pardoning of the 7 SPLM leaders, known as the former detainees who were released on bail to Kenya.
