The SPLA Spokesperson says the Opposition forces have attacked government forces in Jamam in Maban County of Upper Nile State.

Colonel Philip Aguer gave assurance the oil companies operating in Adar and Faluj oilfields are under full protection.

He told Eye Radio this evening that there were casualties on both sides, but they have not received full report from the area.

“…Definitely there are casualties but we do not have the statistics, and we hope we will get the full report. However, the SPLA assured the oil companies in Adar and Faluj that their protection is 100%, the SPLA is protecting the area and is in control of that area, and the situation is stable.” The Army Spokesperson said.

Colonel Aguer says the SPLA in Opposition forces are in defiance of the ceasefire agreement, which the two parties signed last year.

There were no comments from the military spokesperson of the SPLA in Opposition forces, regarding the latest attacks
