One person has died, and three others sustained injuries after a passenger car overturned along the Magwi-Torit Road in Eastern Equatoria State on Saturday.
Magwi County’s Crime Officer Onen George told Eye Radio Monday that a Toyota Noah driver was over speeding while heading to Torit town from Magwi County when the car overturned, injuring four people including the driver.
But unfortunately, the county officials said, one of the injured passengers died on Sunday night while receiving treatment.
“A car was traveling from Magwi to Torit when unfortunately, the driver over sped, causing the vehicle to overturn. Three passengers sustained injuries, and one of them passed away yesterday at midnight,” he said.
The crime officer noted that the public car involved in accident bore the registration number SSD 380BB.
The remaining two injured passengers are receiving treatment at the hospital while the driver is detailed in a police custody for investigation.
