The National Chamber of Commerce has launched the first quality award competition for business companies operating in South Sudan.
The aim of the competition is to encourage companies produce quality products in the country.
The secretary- general of the Chamber, Simon Akwuie, told the media during the launch of the program that the competition will enable the government know the amount of quality goods produced in the Country.
“The meaning of this quality award is that, it will be annually made, but we will want to encourage companies to keep quality. One of the criteria will be how quality you are, what types of things you are producing in South Sudan, what types of services that you are giving?” he said.
Zain Chief Executive Officer, Basel Manasrah, said the competition will improve services to the people.
“As Zain we are very proud to be part of this quality award program and we truly believe that such award within South Sudan will better serve the nation, it will better serve the quality of services for the people of South Sudan. We are extremely proud to be part of this award.” The CEO said.
Zain and South Sudan Beverages Limited, or S-S-B-L, were the first companies to join the competition today.
The winners will be announced on the fifth of December this year.
