Authorities in Northern Bahr El-Ghazal say they have started renovating roads linking the state counties as part of services delivery to the people there.

The State Minister of Information, Nyibol Benjamin, told Eye Radio that the rehabilitation of the roads will facilitate movement of people and the goods.

She says some of the bridges and roads have been damaged.

“The roads from Aweil North where goods come from the Sudan and it the same thing to Aweil East also,” she said.

“About 50 to 60 vehicles enter per-day, while some remain in Aweil and some go to Wau, some to Rumbek and some go to Juba.”

Madam Nyibol says the roads maintenance project is being carried out by Ayat Construction Company.

She said the construction work will take one month to complete.
