The acting Foreign Affairs Minister has told IGAD, AU, and UN that the decision to remove the defense minister and hand the ministry to SPLM was done within the context of a consultation.

“There were no real worries or concerns because it was done within the context of consultation between the President and the First Vice President,’ said  Deng Dau upon the planned Kiir-Machar Friday meeting.

The meeting between the two peace principals happened after Kiir adjourned it twice.

Speaking on the state-owned TV, SSBC on Friday evening,  Minister Dau said the delays were due to unavoidable circumstances.

“.. what has delayed the meeting are unavoidable circumstances that happened with the departure of one of our generals who was known to all of us; a former general of the SPLA, the former governor of Warrap state, the former deputy minister of interior,  the current member of parliament Gen. Salva Mathok,

“So, that comes with a relative very close to the First Family.

In his remark, Waise all IGAD wanted was to express concern over the matter, but also to encourage the peace leadership to dialogue positively to avert the situation from causing destruction to the country.

“… the relieving of the minister of defense and the minister of interior is that there is some kind of misunderstanding within the government,

“And we wanted to express our concern, and we wanted to encourage the leadership of the Republic of South Sudan to collegially discuss these issues.”

Kiir and Machar have agreed to amicably resolve the matter in a later date.

In a social media post on Friday, the acting Press Secretary in Office of the First Vice President of the Republic said ” the two Principals agreed to meet again at a later date in hope to resolve the deadlock in the spirit of collegial manner, as prescribed in the R-ARCSS.

Mr. Wais suggested that Kiir and Machar engage in a positive dialogue to end the current situation of the destruction of south Sudan.
