President Salva Kiir has directed the national Minister of Roads and Bridges to contract a 60-kilometer road within Western Bahr el Ghazal State Capital, Wau.
Kiir ordered Minister, Simon Mijak Mijok during a stopover rally in Wau town on Saturday.
The head of state was traveling to Warrap state by road to celebrate the 100 years of the catholic church in Kuajok when he addressed Wau residents.
The president said he witnessed for himself the damaged roads and promised to spend a few days in the town once he returned from Kuajok.
He told the locals about the government’s ongoing construction of highways linking Juba to the Upper Nile state and Bahr el Ghazal region.
Kiir also revealed plans for the construction of the roads linking Juba with Yei and Kajo-Keji counties of Central Equatoria state
