The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, James Pitia Morgan, has appointed Ambassador Agok Anyar as the new spokesperson of the ministry, replacing Thomas Kenneth Elisapana.

Agok previously served as Deputy Head of Mission at the South Sudan Embassy in the United States of America.

He has also worked with the South Sudan Permanent Mission to the United Nations, where he represented the country in various diplomatic engagements.

On 15 December 2021, Agok John Anyar Madut Agok, Representative of the Republic of South Sudan to the United Nations, addressed the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Sudan and South Sudan.

In his new role, Agok will be responsible for handling the ministry’s public communication, including media relations and official statements.

The ministry said the appointment reflects confidence in Amb. Agok’s diplomatic experience and communication skills as he takes on the new responsibility of speaking on behalf of the institution.
