The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting says the Media law has been presented to the parliament, and now awaits enactment. According to the Minister of Information, Doctor Barnaba Marial Benjamin the media law will help the government protect journalists and media houses while doing their work. Doctor Marial Benjamin said his ministry will cooperate with different media stakeholders to ensure that the freedom of the press is respected. He added that UNESCO will soon publishing a security advice to journalists in South Sudan on who to report to when they face any threats or danger.
