Residents of Pajok Payam, Magwi County, are meeting with Ugandan officials to resolve a border conflict.

In 2011, disputes over land erupted at Ngom Oromo, the border between South Sudan and Uganda.

People in Pajok were concerned that Ugandans had encroached onto their land by 18 kilometers.

The two communities tried to solve their differences but officials from Uganda refused to sign the resolution saying the issue needed the two central governments.

Magwi County Commissioner, Francis Okech told Eye Radio that the issue is being solved.

“The Local community at Pajok is in a peaceful consultation among themselves with the people of Lokung in Uganda,” said Mr. Okech, “They have identified already who are the owners of the land in that area.”

During this era of border conflict, there have been allegations of illegal building, road construction and logging.
