JUBA, South Sudan (Eye Radio) —  The Local Response Pooled Fund (LRPF-SS), a national humanitarian organization, officially launched its Strategic Plan for 2025–2027 on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The initiative aims to mobilize $4.13 million over the three years to strengthen local capacity, manage resources, and provide direct funding to members for relief, recovery, and development efforts across South Sudan.

The plan outlines delivery of critical services across several sectors, including Static Health Care Services, Education, Food Security, Livelihood, Climate Change, and Access to Justice/Rule of Law.

During the launch, Tabani David, LRPF Program Lead, detailed the strategy’s purpose, stressed capacity support and resource channeling.

“By intending to mobilize $4.13 million US dollars within three years to respond to all the needs… we need to provide the technical support and some capacity enhancement to our members,” said Tabani.

“We also targeted to directly grant or provide funding to our members to respond to the relief, recovery, and development programs.”

Rombek Rombek, Chairperson of LRPF, emphasized that the framework aligns with key governance priorities.

“The strategic plan 2025–2027 provides a clear roadmap for the context phase of the fund’s evolution. It outlines our priorities, strengthens our governance and financing frameworks, and sets strong accountability and results mechanisms,” Rombek stated.

He added that the plan reflects the “robust ambition of the local actors and expectations of our donors and stakeholders.”

Speaking on behalf of development partners, Nwamaka Ifionu, Director of Program Operations at Save the Children, reaffirmed continued commitment to supporting locally led initiatives.

Ms. Ifionu urged collective effort to realize the fund’s goals.

“We look forward to remaining your friends and to continuing to support you to take flight as we live up to the mantra, ‘as locally as possible and as globally as is necessary,” Ifionu stated.

The successful execution of the strategic plan is seen as a vital investment in the future of South Sudan’s locally led humanitarian system.
