Author : | Published: Saturday, September 13, 2014

The Acting Minister of Information in Lakes State has said that unknown gunmen killed three people in an ambush between Chueibet and Rumbek yesterday.

Dhieu Wal said two others were injured in the incident.

He told Eye Radio that the son of late Paramount chief, Aperer Chut, is among those killed.

Mr Dhieu said the victims were coming from Wau.

“On their way they were ambushed and there three people were killed and two people were injured,” Dhieu said.

“These three people happen to be relatives of the [late] paramount chief Aperer Chut,” he said.

“This caused some sort of insecurity yesterday evening.”

Mr. Dhieu says the police are still searching for the suspects.

Last month, members of the national legislative assembly said more 500 people have been killed over the last three months.
