Kisanga ‘returns’ to Juba

The leader of the South Sudan People’s Patriotic Front that was leading a section of Arrow boys in armed confrontations against the government in Gbudwe State has announced an end to the fighting.

Engineer Charles Kisanga, who was the minister of information in the defunct Western Equatoria returned to Juba on Wednesday after President Salva Kiir announced an amnesty for the SPLA-IO and all those waging war on the government.

“This marks the beginning of the end of any war in Western or Greater Equatoria between the government and Arrow Boys,” Mr. Kisanga stated.

Kisanga said over 2,500 former Arrow Boys are receiving training within SPLA cantonment sites in Gbudwe State after the group signed a peace pact with the government.

He also said his party, the SSPPF, will work with the SPLM to advance peace and reconciliation efforts in the country.
