Kiir touches down at JIA

Author : | Published: Wednesday, November 5, 2014

President Salva Kiir has arrived in Juba from Khartoum where he visited President Bashir.

The president had visited the Sudanese capital to hold discussions on an agreement signed in 2012 between the two states.

Though the president was to return yesterday, he had to spend a night in Khartoum due to what officials call “technical problems’ with the plane.

“The President spent a night in Khartoum after his plane developed technical problem,” Ateny Wek, presidential Press Secretary told Eye Radio in an interview.

Mr. Ateny also dismissed media reports that said the president had fallen from the stairs of his plane, saying President Kiir had just slipped and now he is strong and health.

He added that President Kiir is expected to attend IGAD leaders’ summit in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia if the country receive the official invitation.
