President Salva Kiir has instructed the government delegation attending the peace talks to negotiate in good faith. And bring lasting peace to South Sudan.

The Press Secretary in the office of the president, Ateny Wek Ateny, says President Kiir briefed the team before they went to Addis.

Mr. Ateny says the president is committed to peace.

“He instructed the negotiators to be resilient and continue to negotiate in good faith,” he said.

“We are expecting the two parties to be equal on the negotiating table. The president still has reaffirmed commitment to bring peace to South Sudan.”

The next round of South Sudan peace talks is expected to resume in Addis Ababa later today.
