Kiir reshuffles CES cabinet, fires Kajo-Keji Commissioner

President Salva Kiir on Thursday issued a number of decrees reshuffling the cabinet and parliament of Central Equatoria State, upon recommendation from Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony.

In the decrees read out on the national broadcaster SSBC, Kiir relieved state ministers, deputy chairpersons of Independent Commissions as well as Kajo-Keji County commissioner in the southern part of the state.

The president removed Wani Tom Sebit Michael, the state Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, and appointed Viana Kakuli Aggrey in his place.

Ex-finance minister Wani Tom was then appointed as the new Minister of Trade and Industry – replacing Viana Kakuli, who was relieved from the same post in a similar decree on the same evening.

Kiir also appointed Fredericko Laku Raymond as the Minister of Land, Housing, and Public Utilities to replace Flora Gabriel Modi.

He also sacked the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Bullen Amos Soro and assigned him as the state Deputy Chairperson for Employees Justice Chamber.

Meanwhile, Huda Micah Laila was appointed the state minister for Gender, Child and Social Welfare.

In another decree, Kiir sacked the SPLM-IO nominated Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County, Kenyi Eresto Michael, and replaced him with Phanuel Dumo.

President Kiir also revoked the appointment of two members of the state parliament; Lushia Gabriel Tunde and Samuel Dumo Jane. In their place, he appointed lawmakers Muruela Tartisio Modi, Stephen Lubori Wuya both from the SPLM-IO.

Kiir further revoked the appointment of two SPLM-IO members the national parliament; Bonga Koji Loro and Matata Frank Elikana and appointed Lushia Gabriel Tunde and Papa Samuel Manawa in their place.

In another decree, Matata Frank Elikana was appointed to the Council of States to replaced the late Manawa Aligo.
