President Salva Kiir has issued a number of decrees appointing SPLA commanders in different positions.

Lt. General Bapiny Monytuil has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Orientation and Moral. He replaces Chol Thon, now the Caretaker-Governor of Upper Nile State.

Meanwhile, General James Gai Yoach has been reintegrated into the SPLA.

He defected from SPLM – In Opposition in June 2014.

The two generals have been fighting along with government forces against opposition forces in Unity state during the 21-month conflict.

In another decree, the president appointed Bior Ajang as First Ambassador and Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“The ministry is welcoming the appointment of Ambassador Bior to this position and this is very good thing because Mr Bior is very great person and he has a good experience in the administrative work,” said Amb Mawien Makol, spokesperson of the ministry.

Mr. Ajang previously served in the Ministry of Defense as its Undersecretary.
