Kiir to address UN General Assembly

The ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has confirmed that President Salva Kiir will address the UN General Assembly in New York this week.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Ambassador Mawien Makol says the president’s speech will focus on the current situation in South Sudan particularly the ongoing peace talks in Addis Ababa.

‘‘The President of the Republic of South Sudan; His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayerdit will be presenting speech; of course, he will be talking of the issues that are now a concern for the country. And he will be talking about things to do with the peaceful settlement that is going on in Addis Ababa and other related issues that the world wants to know about South Sudan” , the Spokesperson said.

President Kiir is accompanied by a number of ministers, including the minister of foreign Affairs Dr. Barnaba Marial.
