Kenya has experienced a nationwide power blackout on Saturday evening, the country’s electric power producer announced.
Kenya Power said in a short statement seen by local media that the countrywide outage was experienced at 6: 20 PM.
The cause of the situation is reportedly a result of system disturbance.
“We have lost bulk power supply to various parts of the country due to a system disturbance and we are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible,” said Kenya Power according to Nation newspaper.
Nation reports that the outage has left millions in darkness, but the utility firm has apologized and promised to restore electricity soon.
