The prices of goods in Kapoeta have reduced after he warned traders against selling essential goods at high prices, the town mayor has announced.

Last month, Bukhari Combo threatened to close down shops of traders who did not comply.

He told Eye Radio that the price of 50-kilogram bag of maize that used to be sold at 4000 Pounds has now reduced to 2700 Pounds.

The move came after an intense discussion between the state authorities and traders in Kapoeta state.

Mr. Combo urged all traders there to stop hiking prices of goods and encourage price reduction to favor people that cannot afford higher prices.
