The unspecified number of displaced persons have been sheltering in schools and churches for more than a month now.
Phanuel Dumo said the cattle herders have already evacuated the area and have moved to western and northern part of the county.
He is appealing to the natives to go back to their homes and start cultivating.
“The cattle herders that are at the western part of the county have gone to Awulu from there I think they are on the side of Lainya now,” he assured.
“To the northern Kajokeji which is Nipu Payam, they actually left the area and they are between Keju and Kaya, so the whole of Kajokeji is evacuated they are no longer here.”
According to Daily Monitor, Uganda’s most influential newspaper, more than 450,000 people have fled their homes in Kajo Keji County to Uganda.
