Five babies including twin girls were born at Juba Teaching Hospital in the first few hours of the New Year’s Day, according to Joyce Peace Abuni, a midwife deployed to the facilities’ maternity ward.
Peace told Eye Radio that the newborn babies include three girls and two boys.
“We had 2 boys and 3 girls and among them are twins (girls),” she told Eye Radio in an exclusive interview on Monday.
Of the four mothers, only a woman gave birth through a surgical operation.
Peace said four women delivered on the New Year’s Eve, making a total of nine births as of this morning.
“On 25, December, we had twins, also now on January 1st we had twins and they are all girls.”
