South Sudan has signed an agreement with Sudan to set up a joint bank account for funding border demarcation activities.

Representatives from the two countries reached the deal at a three-day meeting hosted by the African Union in Addis Ababa on Friday.

The meeting was a follow-up to the previous one held in Juba early last month.

The Minister of Information, Michael Makuei Lueth, signed on behalf of South Sudan and State Minister at the Presidency Dr. Al Rasheed Haroun Adam signed on behalf of Sudan.

The African Union says the agreement marks a new step in the implementation of the Cooperation Agreements signed between the two countries in September 2012.
