Author : | Published: Monday, October 10, 2016

Al-Muogif newspaper journalist was found dumped at Gumba graveyard in Juba suburb this morning.

Malek Bol went missing on Friday and was found after being tortured by unknown people.

Bol Deng is, a relative, told Eye Radio that he believed Mr Malek was tortured because he published an article critical of the government on social media.

Mr Deng says the writer wrote about the economic crisis and corruption in the country.

The journalist was found this morning, with broken ribs after being repeatedly hit with a buttstock.

“In fact, he was tortured and punitively head-shaved. He was also tortured with a buttstock,” Deng confirmed.

The police department is yet to comment on the matter.

Last month, a journalist was found dead along Juba-Nimule road after being kidnaped by unknown gunmen.

Similar incident also happened earlier this year when two journalists were tortured and dumped on two different graveyards in Juba town.
