A journalist who was arrested last week in Yambio has been released from detention.

The director of Anisa FM, Father Elario Zambakari, says security personel picked reporter Silvestro Ruati his house in Nagori area on Saturday.

Father Elario says Mr Ruati has now been released without charge after three days in detention.

“I talked to him last night and we are yet to meet, he told me he was just told to go home after investigation. I am going back to talk to him, meet him and take him for medical checkup at the clinic,” said Zambakari.

Yesterday, presidential press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny said he had no information about the arrest.
