Renowned Jonglei State wrestler Ajith Nyakuoi succumbed to an illness in Juba on Sunday, at the age of 36.

Majok Jok, a former colleague of the late, confirmed his demise to Eye Radio on Tuesday.

According to Majok, the former wrestler had suffered from a long illness before he was transferred to Juba where he died on Sunday night.

“He was brought from Bor, just one day and he passed away before even the treatment was started,” Jok said.

“What I know is, it is a long long sickness. It’s like 2 years or 3 years.”

The deceased hails from Kolnyang Payam of Bor North County.

He started wrestling in 2008 as a young man, and became a national wrestler after winning tough matches in 2010.

However, in the past three years, he became ill until his death on Sunday.
