The government of Jonglei State has ordered local government administrative officers to return to their duty stations across various counties within two weeks, warning that failure to comply will lead to replacement and a salary cut.

In a circular seen by Radio Eye, the ministry of Local government and Law Enforcement ordered recently redeployed officials to report to their new duty stations in Bor, Twic East, Duk, Nyirol, Uror and Fangak counties within 14 days.

The ministry said those in Juba should urgently return to the state headquarters in Bor unless one had an official permission from the ministry.

The ministry warned that those who fail to comply with the order will be replaced and removed from the government payroll.

The circular further warned officials from engaging in political debates and discussions saying that the law prohibits administrative officials from involvement in partisan politics.
