Jonglei State Deputy Governor has vowed to bring to account those involved in the killing of three people including a wrestler during a communal fighting between youth from two neighboring communities.

Fighting erupted between youth from Ayual community of Twic East County and Hol of Dok County over Lang Toich fishing ground, the state police commissioner Major General Elia Costa said earlier in a statement.

One of the deceases is reported to be a legendary wrestler named Deng Dau, better known as Deng Moradong.

General Elia Costa said the incident occurred after the Ayual community allegedly confiscated and burned fishing nets belonging to the latter.

Deputy Governor Jacob Akech Dengdit expressed his “deepest condolences” to families and friends of the victims while calling for calm in the state.

“Let us remain calm, the state government will do all it can to ensure all the culprits are brought to justice, and we shall get justice for their lives,” Akech said to families of the victims.
