Insecurity paralyzes Mundri schools

Author : | Published: October 3, 2016

Schools have failed to reopen in two counties in Mundri west, Amadi, due to insecurity, the state governor has said.

Joseph Ngere Paciko says armed groups are still active in Bangolo and Papati counties, and have blocked roads leading to the areas.

However, Mr Ngere says many schools in other parts of the state are functioning despite insecurity.

He told Eye Radio about his assessment of the situation.

Mr Ngere also said the government has not been able to send salaries of teachers in Mundri West due to insecurity.
