Tonj South Central Prison will be renovated after the county commissioner’s visit uncovered problems.
Commission William Wol visited the prison this week. During his visit he found there was a lack of food and medicine for inmates.
He also found the prison needed some physical upgrades. Mr. Wol said finishing of the fence and renovating the latrines are their main agenda.
“It will be constructed because it doesn’t need big budget,” said Hon. Wol, “it is a matter of renovating it.”
He called on the national government to support the prison as his County works on renovating some of its facilities.
“The big issue is about the feeding and medicine for inmates, but renovation will be done by the county.”
