Imatong denies losing teachers over pay

Author : | Published: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Imatong State government has rejected reports that some teachers in Nimule have abandoned teaching due to little pay and delayed salary payment.

On Tuesday, teachers in the border town told Eye Radio that they resorted to business in search of means to meet their basic needs.

However, the state minister of Education, Jacob Atari, refutes the claims.

“I haven’t seen any report that there are some teachers who did not report to school because of their payment,” Mr Atari told Eye Radio.

“We have only problem of the low pay but we’re trying our level best on how we can solve [it].”
