Intergovernmental Authority on Development is urging South Sudan to improve service delivery.

IGAD deployed 200 civil Service Supports Officers to build the capacity of South Sudanese institutions for two years.

IGAD project Manager Catherine Waliula said government institutions should use the skills gained during the training.

“So we are basically hoping for a gradual improvement in the services of the government from the civil servants, we are expecting to see better delivery of services and we are expecting to see improved and well informed and up to date current civil servants as an outcome of this program.” She said.

Ms Catherine said IGAD is planning to bring more experts to work as twins in the government institutions.
