Police are holding an SPLA officer who shot a person in the arm during a fighting in Gumbo suburb of Juba yesterday.

The Commissioner of Police in Central Equatoria State says the officer picked the gun after a quarrel with some youth in the area.

Major General Henry Danima says the officer is being detained for investigation.

“The officer was disarmed by the military intelligence and he was arrested and has been detained for questioning,” Maj-Gen Danima told Eye Radio.

“The injured youth has been taken for treatment.” General Danima says security has improved in Juba this week.
