A civil society group in Yambio has called for investigation into the death of a teacher and two other civilians, whose bodies were found last week in a farm and by a roadside.

In a statement, Human Right s Forum says the body of teacher Mathew Jacob was found at a cassava plantation, with the hand tied at the back.

The bodies of two other civilians were found along the road between Mombai and Zibiri on the way to Yambio town.

“We call upon the government, rebel groups and other regional bodies to consider the conflict in Western Equatoria State as serious and a terrible situation to citizens,” Bashir Ahmed,  chairperson of the group.

Officials say the areas where the bodies were found are under control of local armed groups.
