A government delegation headed by the Information Minister, Michael Makuei, left Juba for Addis Ababa on Tuesday to hold discussions with the SPLM in Opposition on the implementation of the peace agreement.

Mr Makuei says the parties will discuss security agreements during the transitional period.

He told Eye Radio that IGAD should ensure that the parties to the conflict comply with the peace agreement signed in August.

“I call upon the rebel leader Riak Machar to put his house in order so that we don’t again fall into more crises with their split in the group,” the minister said.

The delegation delegates include Peter Bashir Gbandi, the deputy minister of foreign affairs, and senior officers from the army and police.

Last week, IGAD envoys urged the SPLM in Opposition to sign the outcome of a security meeting held in Addis Ababa last month, and to join the government in implementing the agreement.
