Gov’t asked to rid Pigi of rebel forces

Some members of Atar Community Association are calling on the government to restore peace in Pigi County, Jonglei State.

Pigi County is currently under control of rebel forces.

Addressing journalists in Juba this afternoon, a member of Council of States, Josua Dau, said the civilians in the county are not in peace due to the presence of SPLA – In Opposition there.

He said the government forces must be sent to the county to protect the citizens.

“We are asking our government to protect the civil population because that is the responsibility of the government and should use all means to flash the rebels from all our areas,” urged Mr Dau.

According to community, there are close to 100, 000 people living in Pigi County.
