A joint team from the national and state ministries of health will conduct general vaccination campaign in Greater Pibor area for children and pregnant women, Jonglei Deputy Governor has said.

Baba Medan, told Eye Radio on the Dawn Show that there have been no vaccinations conducted in Pibor for more than two years due to the conflict which engulfed the area.

“There are arrangements between the national Ministry of Health and the state ministry of health to go conduct vaccination campaigns, which will target children and pregnant women.

Mr Medan said mobile clinics will be set up in the area.”

Last week, the government and the South Sudan Democratic Movement Defense Army-Cobra Faction, led by General David Yau, Yau, signed a peace agreement in Addis Ababa.

The deal will establish an independent administrative area for Pibor County.
