Fuel scarcity hits WES

Author : | Published: Tuesday, September 16, 2014

There is a fuel shortage in Western Equatoria due to bad roads that link the state with Juba, the state minister of information has told Eye Radio.

Engineer Charles Barnaba Kisanga says the roads have been damaged by heavy rains.

“The roads have been damaged and there are vehicles that have stuck on the way because the roads are very bad. So this is what is affecting the State,” he said.

Authorities in Western Equatoria also said the road between Tambura and Western Bahr El-Ghazal State is impassable due to heavy rains.

Many roads have become impassable due to the recent downpour.

Last week, western Bahr el Ghazal authorizes announced that trade and transport had been crippled by the rain, causing market prices to skyrocket in the state.
