The Management of Eden Commercial Bank says the work at Custom branch will not be affected by the fire that partially burnt the roof of the bank.

The roof of the bank was partially burnt when fire destroyed a number of houses near the main bus park on Friday night.

Custom branch Manager, Elia Sisimaya Akole, told Eye Radio that the causes of the inferno were unknown. He says the fire was reported to have originated from the neighborhood.

“We received telephone calls from our clients who informed us that there was a fire at the bank, then we rushed to the bank, all the team members arrived there and we managed to put the fire off and bring things out. We don’t know the causes of the fire, because the fire was came from somewhere. I think that will not affect our work.” He said.

Sisimaya urges the clients to go to Malakia main branch as from tomorrow Monday, for sending and receiving their money.

He says they will start renovating the bank as from tomorrow and it will take them two to three days then the Custom branch will resume full operations.

“Here we will resume shortly when we finish because we need to do a new wiring of the network, because some wires have been cut. So the maintenance will take maximum two to three days. Yes I advise the clients to go to Malakia tomorrow.” Said the Branch Manager.

Elia Sisimaya says the bank will notify the public shortly when the maintenance at Custom Branch is completed.
